Preparation for new members and an exciting year of opportunity

Elon University’s beloved Phoenix Racing Team returned to campus just over a month ago and have already been hard at work recruiting new members, organizing car components and preparing for competitions. The team is optimistic about the opportunities that the dedicated members can work together to achieve this year.

Organization Fair

The year is off to an exciting start with the organization fair held on Sept. 17, where Phoenix Racing Team was able to discuss the goals of the club and benefits of joining with interested students. The team provides members with hands-on experience designing and manufacturing components of the car, an aspect that resulted in many potential new members who were eager to learn and develop their craft.

Clemson Baja SAE

On Oct. 2-5, members of the racing team will be headed to Clemson to help out as volunteers for the Baja SAE competition. This will allow Phoenix Racing Team to increase understanding of competition layout and expectations ahead of SAE Carolina Student Night and the Formula SAE Michigan competition, two events the team plans to attend this year. It also provides a valuable experience for students to meet the companies running and sponsoring the competitions.

The ambitious team is dedicated to improving their knowledge, constantly seeking opportunities to expand their skills.
